West Buttress Camps
Now that Bernie and Matt have established camp at 11,200 ft I thought it was important to make sure everyone takes another look at what is ahead of them. This is the same picture that Bernie linked to in the right hand menu.
June 4 Base Camp (7,200 feet) up to Camp I at 7,800 feet June 5Camp I up to Camp II at 10,000 feet. June 6 Rest and acclimatization day June 7Carry half our gear to Camp III at 11,500 feet and return to Camp II June 8Carry other half of gear to Camp III June 9 Rest and acclimatization day June 10 Carry to Camp IV at 14,200 feet June 11 Rest and acclimatize June 12 Rest and acclimatize June 13Carry gear to 16,500 feet and cache and return to Camp IV June 14Rest and prepare for move to high camp June 15Pick up cache at 16,500 feet and move to high camp at 17,200 feet. June 16 Rest and prepare for summit day June 17Summit Day! and return to high camp June 18 Descend to Camp II June 19Descend to Base Camp and wait for a flight off the glacier
Factor in at least three days of storms maybe more. This would be the ideal scenario.
